In response to Hurricane Ida, a TFPA policy moratorium is in effect and we have activated our Catastrophe Incident Response (CAT) Plan.
Policy Moratorium in Effect
A TFPA policy moratorium went into effect at 1:30 p.m. on August 27, 2021. We can no longer issue policies for new or increased coverage for properties located in the following Texas counties:

Once the TFPA General Manager determines the storm no longer threatens property in the counties listed above, TFPA will lift the moratorium at 12:01 a.m. the next day.
CAT Plan Activated
We are preparing for Hurricane Ida’s landfall and have activated our CAT Plan. This will help us respond to our stakeholders as quickly and effectively as possible if this storm causes severe damage in our coverage area.
Report a Claim, If Needed
TFPA policyholders with property damage can report claims using our online Claims Center (login and register at www.texasfairplan.org/claimscenter). Agents can report claims for their clients using TFPA Agent Gateway. Agents and policyholders can also call (800) 979-6440, option 1.
